TOYOTA AQUA VS. HONDA FIT
Imported
Japanese hatchbacks are becoming highly popular and common in Pakistan these
days. A number of these can be found in the market from all sorts of
manufacturers, but if you’re looking for mid-sized hybrid hatchback, it is much
obvious that you have to choose between Toyota Aqua and Honda Fit. Comparison
between the two cars can be elucidated with the following features:
·
DESIGN (EXTERIOR)
The Toyota
Aqua exhibits a very sporty hatchback look on the outside unlike the
traditional hatchback design. The front is very similar to 2012 Prius. It has sleek
narrow LED lights, large hexagon grill and features alloy wheels. The front
bumper is relatively large and low to the ground. Coming to the rear part, it
has transparent LED taillight at the back that extend to the roof spoiler. Being
a hatchback car, it also has windshield wiper.
The 3rd
generation Honda Fit features a more revolutionary and modern design
language, having smooth tapered lines all around the exterior body, dotted with
some aggressive design cues at certain points. It is more spacious and
aerodynamically efficient as compared to Toyota Aqua. It has sleek narrow
headlights at the front with chrome grill in the middle. Fog lamps with LED
DRLs in the front bumper. The rear bumper looks aggressive but restrained.
INTERIOR
The Toyota Aqua has a modern, aesthetically
beautiful interior with two tone steering having volume controlling keys and an
infotainment screen in the center. It can called spacious overall but comfortable
for only 4 adults. The interior features multifunctional adjustable steering
wheel and digital climate control. It has power doors and windows.
We can undoubtedly say that the interior of Honda
Fit is more spacious and comfortable as compared to Aqua. Black and
polished silver plastic is used. It also has multi-functional adjustable
steering wheel. The audio/video screen is in the center. It also features
digital climate control. Some other interior features are power doors and windows,
keyless entry, push start and front heated seats.
For safety, both the cars have ABS brakes. The only
difference is that while Toyota Aqua has two airbags at the front, Honda fit
has two at the front along with curtain airbags too.
·
ENGINE
Toyota Aqua was ranked most
fuel efficient car by US environment protection agency in 2011. It has a four
cylinder engine, having 1.5 L which gives 99 Horsepower. The engine also gives
CVT transmission. The fuel average is 20-22 km/litre and its fuel tank capacity
35 L.
Though both the cars have almost same fuel efficiency
and engine power, Honda fit also has a 1.5L, four cylinder engine which
produces 130 Horsepower. The interesting part is that it has both auto CVT transmission
and manual transmission. Fuel average for this car is 20-25km/litre whereas
fuel tank capacity is 35L.
·
PRICE
Price plays a
very important role in if one is comparing two cars at the same time. But in
this case, there is hardly any difference in prices of both the hatchbacks. Toyota
Aqua would cost you around 17-18 Lacs (2010-2013 model) and 20-21 Lacs
(2015-16 model) in Pakistan. Honda Fit costs 18-19 lacs but if you’re
looking for a low mileage one, then its price will be around 21 lacs
respectively.
So, after
having a brief analysis of the comparison among both the cars, we can say that
both have their own charm and reliability. Overall Honda fit is safer, spacious,
stylish and comfortable. On the other hand, Aqua is wonderful in performance
and the best part about it is that its spare parts are easily available all
over Pakistan.
